The facilities are spanking new (she doesnt care that they are off campus). Everyone fits into a different school, I didnt mean to offend anyone really. I have no clue. I'm a high school senior and I've been fortunate enough to have been accepted into two awesome BFA Acting Programs at Pace and Hartt. The student guide we had (BFA acting senior at the time) was super-enthusiastic about the program. Some programs (like NYU Tisch) dont even allow videotaping of shows or showcases. Oberlin is a decorated liberal arts college in and out of their conservatory, having graduated seven Pulitzer winners, 16 Rhodes Scholars, and three Nobel Laureates. At the end of the Masters degree, for 5 weeks students get to be the intern for a professional film composer in Los Angeles. Although an independent conservatory, Juilliard does offer a 5-year dual degree with the Ivy-League Columbia University. I dont think this thread is obsolete, because in a few months the HS class of '12 will be making their own decisions among acceptances. I am happy to say, that as a current freshman Hartt student, I still feel this way, and have found that Hartt was a much better fit for me than Pace.

To have Lee Strasbergs Daughter in law be your acting teacher, (the guy known as the father of acting) as well as many other accomplished performers is a chance that the Hart School doesnt have to offer. Not sure what negatives theatreguy is implying about YouTube videos, but my d visited Hartt about ten days ago as an accepted student to actually visit the classes. Pace is in NYC. Its worth noting that, although CCM has an excellent reputation in classical music, its musical theatre program may just be the very best in the country, consistently ranking in the top 3 of most represented schools on Broadway. I havent looked into the Pace program too much, but Id recommend looking at the Hartt School Senior Showcase on youtube (I think its the class of 2009). Manhattan School of Music is an urban conservatory; based in New York City, students at MSM have access to everything the Big Apple offers musically. At Pace we were told that in the BFA programs they closely monitor the amount of students they accept. She was extremely impressed with the high quality of the faculty, the classes and the students themselves. One thing that makes Oberlin interesting is its almost entirely undergraduate student population. It had the college campus feel, and nicer facilities in my opinion, which aesthetically appealed to me before any classes or performances I saw.
